This is Beauty. She’s a 2 and 1/2 year old rescue Pitt. We’ve had her almost 2 months and she’s the sweetest, most non-aggressive dog I’ve ever met.
I hated Pitt Bulls for the longest time. When i was a kid I watch one attack my dog and it turned me off the breed. I swore that even though i was fully against demonizing the entire breed, I would never be comfortable enough around one to own one myself. The day I saw her big brown eyes through the wire fence at the shelter, it was all over.
The NSPCA told us that she’d been brought in along with 5 other dogs from a horders house. She’d had heartworms when they’d first brought her in and you can still see the small white patches of fur that used to be open sores. Because of her heartworms she had to be kept on a strict low activity lifestyle until she got the final okay from the vet. At one point she’d been adopted out. the family returned her after she pulled out one of her stitches after she was fixed. They said she was too much to handle. After that I knew I had to have her. No dog deserves being discarded because they are having a hard time.
I don’t know her exact life was before our paths crossed, but I do know I will try my hardest to be the owner she deserves. Its a long road, but I know it’s will be good for both of us. Besides being the perfect pup she is, she’s always ready for our next adventure!
